these socks aren't made for walkin'

I knit myself a pair of socks. And I love them. Oh, do I ever.

There are about a million mistakes scattered throughout, and they aren't identical by any means, but I learnt so much during this project, and they are wonderfully cozy. And I MADE them!

I know, I know, they are just socks...but astonishingly, I am so very proud of them.
In fact, I am almost afraid to wear them...these babies took me over twenty hours to knit up!

Pete loves them almost as much as I do, and I am so lucky to have a partner who really appreciates and respects the time and energy I put into handmade craft - plus he's pretty understanding when it comes to how much I spend on yarn - so I think its only fair I knit him a pair of his own. And you know what that means...another trip to the yarn store for me! Yay!

Be well,

  1. WONDERFUL!!!!! Great work, Shan!!! - you absolutely SHOULD be so proud of yourself! They're gorgeous.
I just finished a sweater for Rio that I actually like! But *sigh* sewed on the last button and listened to the last minute of Oliver Twist on my ipod simultaneously yesterday. Now what will I do when she's napping???!!!!!
Ooh, I suppose I could PACK!
I love and miss you and am so proud of you! OW OW OW!!!! XOXOXO

  2. Socks are hard - congrats on finishing them! They are sooo "you"!!
